 Global Warming???

The media has me totally confused!  Should we be surprised?  Al Gore and all of his friends of the more “intelligent community” tell us that global warming is as sure as the sunrise, and it will bring a disastrous conclusion to the earth as we know it.

Last month a contingency of more than 500 scientists gathered in New York at the 2008 International Conference on climate change.  With a busload of facts, they argued that so-called warming is cyclical and rotates roughly every 1500 years.

Ivan Browning, nationally known scientist and climatologist, stated, “Man is not important to climate, but only to himself!”  He went on to suggest that the termite is more significant in that termite flatus produces 260% as much carbon dioxide as all the burning fuel in the world.  When Dr. Browning was asked about the trees that are being cut down in the Amazon (contributing to the alleged greenhouse effect), he suggested that they are being replaced by grass which produces six times as much photosynthesis and six times as much chlorophyll as hardwood trees which greatly increases the carbon dioxide-oxygen turnover.

The more discerning scientists have pointed out that chlorine is produced by fluorocarbons.  When Mt. St. Augustine blew in Alaska, it was shown to put out 35 times as much chlorine as produced in the entire world…there are on average about 30 volcanoes per year.  Perhaps Al and his buddies can figure out a way to plug them up.

It is difficult for man to resign himself to his total insignificance.  King David the Psalmist was correct when he stated, “What is man, that thou art mindful of him?”

Psalm 8:4

God would have us to be good stewards of the environment in which He has placed us, but a great deal of the rabid movement exceeds common sense and good science.  What is being preached by the prophets of doom is a fulfillment of the prediction of the Apostle Paul when he said….”who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator….” Romans 1:25  This statement is followed by seven verses that give a long list of social and moral deviations that are evident in society today.  Modern environmentalism is essentially a religion of pantheism (anything in nature can be a god), and as a religion, it objects to any competition.  Regardless of how many facts are submitted to the contrary, the bearer of them will be shouted down as being ignorant and unsympathetic.

As a Bible believer I find great comfort is Genesis 8:22….”While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.”  These are the words of the Creator Himself. (Hebrews 1:2)  Perhaps He knows more than Al; at least that’s where I am putting my faith.
