You Are Worth More Than You Think: Be
careful of your thoughts . . . For
your thoughts become your words. Be
careful of your words . . . For
your words become your actions. Be
careful of your actions . . . For
your actions become your habits. Be
careful of your habits . . . For
your habits become your character. Be
careful of your character . . . For
your character becomes your destiny. If You Are Not Prepared To Die: Don't
- Ride in or get in the
way of automobiles, as they are the cause of over
20% of all accidents. Don't
- Stay at home, as over
17% of all accidents happen inside the home. If you
must be at home, stay outside; because only 8.5% of
all accidents occur around the outside of the
house. Don't
- Walk on the street if
you can avoid it, as 14% of all accidents occur to
pedestrians. Don't
- Travel by air, rail or
water, because 6% of all accidents are the result
of traveling. Don't
- Indulge in sports or
recreation under any circumstances, for nearly 20%
of all accidents result from this cause. Don't
- Do anything or go
anywhere, for the remaining 14.5% are miscellaneous
accidents.
"Believe
on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be
saved"
(Acts 16:31)
Often The Answer Does Not Correspond To The Petiton: A little boy saying his nightly prayers was heard to pray: "Please God, make Boulder the capitol of Colorado." His mother was quite surprised and questioned with amazment, "Why do you ask that?" Because, "the lad explained, "that's what I put down on my examination paper today!" We smile at the ridiculous prayer of this youngster, but as adults we often are just as guilty when we selfishly request unscriptural things to cover our own negligence. Prayer is not a "magic wand" to be waved indiscriminately but a sacred priviledge to be exercised within the bounds of the Word. Today, with the disciples of old, let us make the request, "Lord, teach us to pray!" - H.G. Bosch
All Graves Are not Six Feet: When the pastor or your church makes an announcement that a member or friend has passed away, you probably automatically think of the little old grandmother who sits near the front. Perhaps you think of one of the older gentlemen in the congregation who has been ill and in the hospital for a long time. Maybe you remember someone who has been listed on the prayer list on Wednesday evenings. Or you could think of someone who was involved in a terrible accident and died quite suddenly. You may have had a relative go home to Heaven and you attended his funeral! When we think of death, we generally think of aged people. Folks come to mind who have raised their families and lived long, full lives. But sad to say, many young people just your age die for one reason or another and go to Heaven - or Hell! Have you ever given any thought to that?
