Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Tim. 2:15

The Eternal Security of The Believer
If Eternal Security Is Not A True Doctrine:

[1]. Christ would have to deny something he knew -

Matt. 7:21- Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23. And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Compare:

John 10:14 - I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

15. As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

27. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

28. And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

29. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

30. I and my Father are one.

[2]. Christ's body would be mutilated, deformed, incomplete -

Eph. 5:25 - Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

26. That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

27. That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Compare:

1 Cor. 12: 12 - For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

13. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

14. For the body is not one member, but many.

18. But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.

[3]. Christ would be a failure as an Intercessor -

Heb. 7:22 - By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.

23. And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death:

24. But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.

25. Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

Compare:

John 1:1 - These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee. . .

9. I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.

12. While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

15. I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.

20. Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

21. That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

[4]. A believer could be saved or lost a dozen times a day -

Just plain old common sense would tell a person this, given that fact that a believer is still in the same flesh that he (she) was in when they got saved. The Lord didn't save the flesh when a person trusted him as their Saviour, the flesh will be changed at the Rapture {1 Cor. 15:50-57}.

[5]. Cutting the believer loose from the flesh would be a waste of time -

Col. 2:8 - Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

9. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

10. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

11. In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

12. Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

[6]. The Doctrine of Justification would be a joke -

Rom. 5:1 - Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

2. By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

8. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

9. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

33. Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

[7]. A believer would be more powerful than the Holy Spirit -

Eph. 4:30 - And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

Even Satan himself is not that powerful, and he is more powerful than either you or me.

[8]. The believer could be unborn and then Born Again, and again, and again -

John 3:3 - Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

4. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

5. Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

6. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

[9]. The words used to describe Salvation would be meaningless -

"Shall Never Perish"

"Forever and Ever"

"Eternal Life"

"Everlasting Life"
